Dominic came to me yesterday and said "nanny you see that". I looked hard at the grass and the leaves to see what he was looking at. It was a frog in the grass, but with all the leaves he just blended in. When Dominic see something for the first time there is a smile on his face and a light goes off in his eyes.
I have a nephew named Justin, and when he was 6 his parents would let me take him to movies and plays.
Sometimes we were the only ones in the movies theater, but Justin didn't care. He could sit anywhere he wanted. Then we would go to a play he wanted to sit in the balcony. He wanted to see everything. It was wonderful to see things from his point of view. He sees things for the first time and then you see things in a different way.
I am lucky that Dominic is two and I get to see things that he sees for the first time. For example, when it rains, he wants to know where the rain comes from. We were out in the yard and the last leaves were falling from the trees. He called it raining leaves. Each time Dominic sees things it's for the first time. His eyes are open to the entire world . He sees things and wants to know what it is and where does it come from.
We see things and don't think anything about it, but a two year old , sees an airplane, motorcycle, boat, or even an ant, he has not seen before he is amazed.
They are thrilled and want to know "What is that?".
So, when you see things, imagine seeing it thru a 2 year old and remember something about it. Maybe a child will be with you one day and you will see something thru their eyes for the first time.
Dominic, is our gift from God and we are teachers for the little ones. I enjoy watching Dominic and watching his eyes light up even watching a frog.
SEE IT ALL LOVE DALE
